An airotor cartridge is the turbine unit that sits inside a high-speed handpiece and does the actual work — impeller, ceramic bearings, bur chuck and spray channels in one replaceable assembly. When a handpiece loses torque or starts to whine, the cartridge has usually worn out, not the handpiece body around it.
